Day 1 London - Amsterdam
A warm welcome from our Tour Director as we drive to Dover and admire the White Cliffs on our ferry crossing to Calais in France. On through Belgium crossing the Dutch border near Breda on our approach to lively Amsterdam. A short orientation on arrival shows us Dam Square and the Tower of Tears. (3 course evening meal)
Day 2 Amsterdam - Berlin (2)
This morning we cross the great rivers of Dutch history to the German border. Next into lower Saxony via Osnabruck and Hannover as we continue along the route once known as the 'Berlin Corridor' to our hotel in Berlin for two nights. (Continental breakfast)
Day 3 Berlin at leisure
Today's sightseeing includes the main sights of this fascinating city. |

Later, why not move out of the city to nearby Potsdam or visit the Pergamon on the Museum Island? Berlin's nightlife is famous … you may wish to sample some of it for yourself this evening. (Continental breakfast)
Day 4 Berlin - Prague (2)
This morning we drive through the Spreewald Forest to 'Florence on the Elbe' - Dresden. Here an orientation tour shows us the Zwinger Palace, Semper Opera and 18th century Cathedral. On through Swiss Saxony we reach the Czech frontier. Following the Vlatva River, we arrive in ancient Prague. (Continental breakfast and 3 course evening meal)
Day 5 Prague at leisure
This morning's sightseeing features Hradçany Castle, the Cathedral of St. Vitus and the Old Town Square. Later, with time on your own, why not visit a royal castle outside the city or enjoy a lunch cruise on the Vlatva River - Smetana's 'Moldau'? (Continental breakfast and 3 course evening meal)
Day 6 Prague - Budapest (2)
Today we travel via Brno, one-time headquarters of Napoleon, to the palace of Lednice, where we visit the gardens. Then into Austria and along the Danube Valley to Budapest. (Continental breakfast and 3 course evening meal)
Day 7 Budapest at leisure
The main sights of Buda and Pest are featured on our sightseeing tour. We see the Fishermen's Bastion, Gellert Hill, Heroes' Square, Church of St. Matthias, and the Royal Palace. Later, perhaps take an excursion to Szentendre and shop for embroidery and pottery. After dark, why not take a cruise on the Danube and see this illuminated city? (Continental breakfast) |

Day 8 Budapest - Vienna (2)
Today's drive heads first to the historically rich town of Györ. Then we cross over the border into Austria and soon arrive in our Viennese hotel. (Continental breakfast)
Day 9 Vienna at leisure
Today's morning sightseeing includes a drive along the Imperial Boulevards with views of the Opera, Parliament and Hofburg. Then free time to perhaps shop in elegant Kärtnerstrasse, take a trip to Schönbrunn Palace or sample some Sachertorte for which Vienna is so famous! (Continental breakfast)
Day 10 Vienna - Munich
Enjoy a scenic day as we travel along the Danube Valley and through the Salzkammergut to the city of Mozart's birth - Salzburg. Here orientation shows us the Mirabell Palace and views of the castle-fortress plus the 'Getreidegasse'. Then on to fun-loving Munich for the night. (Continental breakfast and 3 course evening meal)
Day 11 Munich - Mainz
Today we see the Marienplatz, the town hall, with its 'Glockenspiel' clock, and Olympic Complex. Then we travel on the 'Romantic Road' to medieval Rothenburg. Here we see the ancient fortifications with time to shop for hand-made Christmas decorations. Next on to our Rhineland hotel. (Continental breakfast and 3 course evening meal) |

Day 12 Mainz - Brussels
We start the day with a leisurely cruise along the River Rhine. We'll see castles and vineyards as well as the mighty Lorelei Rock before we disembark at Boppard. On through Koblenz to Cologne to see its Cathedral. Next we're off to Belgium at Aachen skirting around the Ardennes to its capital Brussels. Here an orientation of the city shows us the Manneken Pis and Grand' Place before perhaps relaxing over some 'moules frites' in a typical brasserie. (Continental breakfast)
Day 13 Brussels - London
This morning we drive through Flanders to France and the port of Calais to board our ferry back to England. We return to London by coach. (Continental breakfast)
