The Flavian Amphitheater, now called the Colosseum, would be third on the list of Roman wonders. It was an enormous stadium which reputedly could hold between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators   Paris is one of the world's most beautiful and intersting cities with a wealth of world-reknowned sights. Paris was, is and always will be, something rather special. This inexhaustible city has something to offer everyone - whatever you are looking for - be it sightseeing, art, culture, history, architecture, quality food and drink, or nightlife.

Day 1 - Arrive Rome (2 nights)
Trafalgar meets you at Rome's Fiumicino airport and transfers you to your hotel. Tonight, enjoy dinner and meet your Tour Director and fellow passengers. This evening enjoy a Welcome Dinner with wine with your Tour Director and fellow passengers. Later, why not enjoy a guided tour of the Eternal City by night?

Day 2 - Rome sightseeing & at leisure
Our guided morning sightseeing tour features a visit of the impressive St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City, highlighting Michelangelo's moving 'Pieta'. We also visit Piazza Venezia to admire the 'Wedding Cake' otherwise known as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Then along the Sacred Way to view the Roman Forum and of course the infamous Colosseum of the Emperor Nero. Later, perhaps visit the Sistine chapel or wander round the medieval quarter and stop to throw some coins into the Trevi Fountain! (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 3 - Rome - Venice (Mestre)
Today we drive through the hilltop towns of the Umbria and the Apennine Mountains. Then via Bologna to the plains of Veneto and our Venice hotel. Tonight after dinner, a gondola serenade is a must!

Day 4 - Venice sightseeing - Italian Lakes
Our private motor launch takes us on a canal cruise to St. Mark's Square to admire the Bridge of
Sighs and the Doges' Palace. Afterwards, we visit a traditional glass-blowing factory, with free time to shop. From here we drive to the beautiful lake district and Lake Varese. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 5 - Italian Lakes - Lucerne
Today through scenic Alpine landscapes and the Gotthard range as we drive to Lucerne. Here we visit the Lion Monument and hear the moving story of the Swiss Guard's role in the Battle of the Tuileries in Paris at the time of the French Revolution. You will have time to walk across the Chapel Bridge. Then free time to shop or take a trip up a nearby mountain for incredible views! (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner.) Hotel: Schiller

Day 6 - Lucerne - Paris (2 nights)
Via Basel in Switzerland and into France we pass Belfort and remnants of the Maginot Line - the planned defence against an invading Germany in the Second World War. We stop to view the vineyards at Savigny-lès-Beaune, before passing the imposing castle of Châteauneuf on our way to Paris. Tonight, why not enjoy dinner in a cosy bistro in Montmartre? (Buffet Breakfast). Hotel: Holiday Inn La Villette (2 nights)

Day 7 - Paris sightseeing & at leisure
Guided sightseeing this morning includes views of Notre Dame, the ascent of the Eiffel Tower by elevator to the second level, the Champs Elysées and the tomb of the unknown soldier at the Arc de Triomphe. Later perhaps visit the Château of Versailles or explore the treasures of the Louvre Museum as explained in the 'Da Vinci Code'. Tonight, maybe experience the excitement of a Parisian Cabaret. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 8 - Paris - London
Today we drive across the Somme Battlefields and past the Vimy Ridge to Calais. Here we sail across the Channel to the White Cliffs of Dover and make our way by coach through Kent – the Garden of England – to London. (Buffet Breakfast)

Christmas & New Year's Eve Highlights
Tour departure 21 Dec will be accommodated in the Italian Lakes on Christmas Eve and tour departure 29 Dec will be accommodated in Venice on New Year's Eve giving you the opportunity to celebrate in true Italian style.
