Bayswater
Located north of the Royal Parks of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens in Central London. Bayswater is predominantly a residential area bordering Notting Hill, Marble Arch and Hyde Park. This London district provides good access to Oxford Street and Kensington. Local attractions include Whiteleys Shopping Center, The Toy Museum and Portobello Road.
Bloomsbury
Situated at the east end of Oxford Street, Bloomsbury and Fitzrovia from the days of Dylan Thomas, been perceived as a centre for learning and literature. The area is dominated by the British Museum and Russell Square. This area offers good access to Holborn, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Soho, Theatreland and the City is just to the east.
London City
The City of London is located one mile to the east of the West End and is the financial heart of London and the UK. Its is also probably the oldest part of London. Notable landmarks include St Pauls Cathedral, Mansion House, Bank of England, Old Bailey, Tower of London and Tower Bridge.
Covent Garden
Situated in the West End of London, the main attraction in Covent Garden is the piazza housing unique shops, market stalls and restaurants. The whole area is a fashion center of shops and eateries. Notable attractions are the Royal Opera House, Drury Lane, The Strand and the London Transport Museum.
Docklands
From Tower Bridge to the Royal Docks and the Isle of Dogs is one of the oldest areas of London, containing the wharfs, warehouses and ports along the River Thames. In the last half of the 1980s this whole area was rejuvenated with very modern buildings and an extensive new light rail system, Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Kensington
Kensington is an accepted place for tourist and executive hotels. Located to the south and south-west of Hyde Park it offers many good quality shops and restaurants. Notable landmarks are the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens, The Natural History Museum and Science Museum. The V&A Museum and Harrods are only a mile away in Knightsbridge.
West End
The tourist heart of London ! Staying here, you can access most attractions, theatres and shops within a short space of time. Accommodations and car parking tends to be expensive so a good alternative may be Kensington. Notable attractions include Oxford Circus, Leicester Square, Soho, Theatreland, Carnaby Street, Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square. |
