Day 1 London - Dumfrieshire
This morning we meet with our Tour Director and fellow travellers to begin our drive through England's varied landscapes on our journey to Scotland. On our journey we will pass the Lake District and head to the heather covered lowlands of the border country. We'll make a stop at Gretna Green – the place where eloping couples used to get married without their parents' consent – before arriving at our country house hotel for dinner. (Dinner) Hotel: Manor


Day 2 Dumfries – Robbie Burns country – Glasgow

First to Dumfries where we will visit the house where Robbie Burns spent the last few years of his life and then to Rozelle House and Gardens – an 18th century house containing paintings depicting Burns' 'Tam O'Shanter'. We will stop in Alloway to see the birthplace of the great poet. We continue to Glasgow where an orientation tour includes the Burrell Collection which houses over 8000 Art exhibits. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax at your hotel or shop in the many great stores Glasgow has to offer.

Day 3 Glasgow – Loch Lomond – Scottish Highlands (2 nights)

Along the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond this morning for some spectacular scenery. Then we continue to Glencoe and along Loch Linnhe to Fort William in the shadow of Ben Nevis – Britain's tallest mountain. At Spean Bridge we head inland and into the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Day 4 Highlands Excursion to Skye

Marvellous scenery today as we drive along the shores of Loch Ness – look out for the monster! We will stop to admire the ruins at Urqhart Castle overlooking the loch before continuing our journey via Invermoriston to the Kyle of Lochalsh and Bonnie Prince Charlie's Isle of Skye. Time to admire the tranquil and majestic views here before returning to our hotel for dinner. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 5 - Scottish Highlands – St. Andrews – Edinburgh (Falkirk) (2 nights)
South today and past Blair Atholl castle to travel via Perth and the charming village of Pitlochry, known for its salmon. Then to the coast at St. Andrews – home of golf – and to the Scottish capital, the artistic city of Edinburgh for a two night stay. (Full Breakfast) Hotel: Airth Castle


Day 6 - Edinburgh sightseeing and at leisure
We drive to the city centre for our sightseeing tour with a local expert showing us the Royal Mile, Princes Street an views of the Castle. Time at leisure to explore the city further or to take an excursion to Rosslyn Chapel – made famous by 'The Da Vinci Code'. This evening why not celebrate your Scottish experience by sharing some whisky and haggis with your travelling comapnions? (Full Breakfast)


Day 7 - Edinburgh (Falkirk) – London

After breakfast, we leave Edinburgh and drive through the Borderlands past the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey
with the chance for a photo at Carter Bar, the border between Scotland and England. Then through the beautiful and rugged scenery of the Northumberland National Park, Newcastle and the Midlands, on our way back to London. (Full Breakfast

EDINBURGH. Rosslyn Chapel Tour & Trail
With a local guide, we drive out of Edinburgh to the tiny village of Rosslyn, where we have a tour of the famous Rosslyn Chapel. Visit one of Scotland's most unusual 15th Century buildings, famed for its associations with the Knights Templar, the Masonic movement, and now 'The Da Vinci Code'. Intricate carvings of New World plants, and secret chambers make this a must on any visit to Scotland. Afterwards there is the opportunity to visit the chapel shop and maybe take a stroll in the beautiful Rosslyn Glen before returning to Edinburgh 18 (£)
