» Southwark Cathedral
Southwark Cathedral
South London’s Cathedral lies within historic Bankside and adjacent to London Bridge. Originally a priory, it is London’s oldest Gothic building, with the main structure built between 1220 and 1420. US university benefactor John Harvard was baptized here, and the cathedral has interesting links to Elizabethan theatre, including a memorial to William Shakespeare.
The London Pass offers a free audio tour, souvenir guidebook (available from the shop), and free tea or coffee with any food purchase in the Refectory Café. Please note that the audio tour is not available during cathedral services.
