Whipsnade Zoo

Whipsnade Zoo offers a chance to see many fascinating creatures. Spot majestic lions and tigers. Watch playful chimpanzees and towering giraffes. See large elephants and powerful rhinos. Keep an eye out for striped zebras and elusive cheetahs. You can also find charming hippos, waddling penguins, and curious lemurs. Even brown bears call this zoo home.

Visit the Giraffe Heights Exhibit. A 9-foot-high viewing platform lets you see giraffes at eye level. This provides an incredible close-up experience. Children will love Hullabazoo Farm & Adventure Play. Here, they can interact with farm animals. Meet miniature donkeys, pygmy goats, and friendly pigs. Whipsnade Zoo, the UK’s largest zoo, invites you to go wild! Home to over 2,500 animals, this expansive wildlife park is set within 600 acres of stunning English countryside. See animals both little and large. Learn about their lives during an exciting day out at Whipsnade Zoo.

The Zoo’s diverse animal collection includes ferocious lions and powerful tigers. You can also find huge elephants, hippos, and striped zebras. Watch playful chimpanzees, mighty rhinos, and brown bears. Charming penguins and curious lemurs also reside here.

Daily Animal Talks and Live Demonstrations

Visitors to Whipsnade Zoo can learn more about the animals during daily talks and live demonstrations. Watch the dedicated keepers interact with sea lions, brown bears, and elephants in their enclosures. These sessions offer fascinating insights into the animals’ behaviours and care.

Giraffe Heights Exhibit

See eye to eye with a towering giraffe at Giraffe Heights! A 9-foot-high viewing platform lets visitors ascend to the same height as the tallest mammal in the world. Imagine what it’s like living this high off the ground!

Hullabazoo Farm & Adventure Play

Little ones can meet and greet a whole host of farmyard friends at Hullabazoo Farm. Pet the Zoo’s miniature donkeys, Trevor and Tulip. Meet a family of pygmy goats, Gloucester old spot pigs and piglets. See sheep and lambs, bunnies, guinea pigs, ferrets, and cute chicks.

There’s also a 7,800 square metre themed outdoor play area. It features swings, bridges, boats, a zip wire, mini safari jeeps, and more! It’s perfect for energetic young explorers.

Butterfly House

Whipsnade Zoo is home to one of the largest butterfly biomes. It features more than 30 different species of butterflies. Walk through this immersive exhibit to discover blue clippers and the postman butterflies. Look out for Madagascan comet moths. Informative talks are offered all about the colourful lives of these delicate and beautiful insects.

Easter at Whipsnade Zoo (5th-21st April)

Join in the Easter egg hunt and discover incredible egg-laying animals. Follow the clues, solve riddles, and crack the secret code to reveal all. There is a tasty treat at the end!

  • Children under 16 years of age will not be admitted without an adult.
  • You must obtain permission for all filming and photography intended for commercial purposes.
  • There is no facility for left luggage at the zoo.
  • No dogs are allowed on the Whipsnade Zoo premises.
  • Bicycles and motorbikes are not permitted on zoo premises.
  • Rollerskates, rollerblades, and skateboards are not allowed on zoo premises. However, children’s scooters are permitted under the supervision of an adult.
