Day 1 - Manchester to Llandudno – Welcoming Wales & Coastal Charms

Say goodbye to Manchester’s urban bustle and head straight for the border to the magical land of Wales. Its tongue-twisting language is the oldest in Great Britain, it’s home to over 600 castles, and its beauty is inescapable. But there’s so much you can’t know until you explore it for yourself, so let the adventure begin!

Mid-Morning: Conwy Castle & Lunch

Journey through the beautiful Welsh countryside and along the Conwy coastline until you reach the charming town of Conwy. This gorgeous harbor town boasts a castle perched by the sea, the ‘world’s smallest house,’ and a plethora of restaurants with delectable fish and chips. Conwy is your lunch stop, and we highly recommend splitting your time between the sights and the senses.

Afternoon: Isle of Anglesey & South Stack Nature Preserve

After soaking up the sea air, cross the world’s first modern suspension bridge onto Anglesey Island. Prior to its construction, cattle farmers had to persuade their herd to swim across the Menai Straits on their way to market. But it was always worth it to visit the beauty of Anglesey Island, with yawning marshes, sandy beaches, limestone cliffs, and beautiful lagoons – this island has it all. Head to the most westerly point of North Wales to marvel at the South Stack Nature Reserve. Luscious farmland meets rugged coastal cliffs, and the iconic lighthouse, known as Goleudy Ynys Lawd, offers unbelievable views of the wild Irish Sea.

Early Evening: Beaumaris & Free Evening in Llandudno

But that’s not all! You’ll stop in the lovely seaside town of Beaumaris, a town with a striking blend of Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian architecture. With an idyllic pier, an impressive 12th-century castle, and pastel-colored cottages, you’ll fall a little bit in love with Beaumaris. You’ll also visit the village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll for a quick photo stop. Then, travel back over the bridge and along the coastline to Llandudno. This Victorian seaside town is your overnight stop tonight, and its beaches, pier, and promenade make for the perfect evening stroll.

Day 2 - Snowdonia's Grandeur & Portmeirion's Charm

Rise and shine to another adventurous day in Wales! We’ll pick you up from your accommodation and make our way into Snowdonia National Park, known locally as Eryri National Park. Within its 823 square miles, you’ll find nine mountain ranges, wild mountain goats, thriving ecosystems, and ancient castles and monuments.

Mid-Morning: Harlech Castle

Our first stop is one of our favorite castles in the UK: Harlech Castle. It boasts epic sea views and an amazing, war-torn history involving a lot of dynamite. Intrigued to know more? Take some time to explore this incredible monument before we jump back on the bus and head for our next destination.

Afternoon: Portmeirion

We venture to one of the most charming and unique villages in Wales, Portmeirion. This town is the brainchild of Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis, who wanted to show how a naturally beautiful location could be developed without spoiling it. The result is a stunning piece of the Mediterranean transported into North Wales. You’ll have free time here to explore and grab a bite to eat.

Early Evening: Free Evening in Llandudno

Back on the bus, it’s time for a scenic drive back to your accommodation. Did you wish you had more time in Llandudno last night? Good news! You’ll head back there for another night tonight and get to know this gorgeous seaside town even better. As we make our way back to Llandudno, we’ll make a few stops here and there depending on the group’s interests.

Day 3 - Snowdonia to Chester & Return to Manchester

The adventure continues today as you have the pleasure of visiting two countries in one day! After breakfast, a sleepy Eryri National Park greets you with a quiet morning hug and more of its best-of-the-best views, including the glistening Lake Padarn and other spectacular scenery. Your first big stop of the day is at Llanberis Slate Museum. The history of the second largest slate mine on the planet will stay in your memory for a long time, and its Victorian workshops once employed over 3,000 men.

Mid-Morning: Lunch in Llangollen

There’s more beauty than you’re prepared for here in Wales, including the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley, which is your next destination. You’ll stop in the charming town of Llangollen, situated along the quiet River Dee and backed by beautiful hill ranges. Have a wander, grab a bite to eat at one of the many cafes and restaurants, and fuel up for the rest of the day.

Afternoon: Chester, England

It’s time to say farewell to Wales for now (or ffarwel in their local language) as you head back into England to visit one of the country’s most historic towns, Chester. It boasts the most complete city walls in Britain, not to mention the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre. And then there’s the 1,000-year-old cathedral brimming with medieval carvings. There’s plenty to do here, but we’d advise you to head to the Cathedral, as you could spend a whole week in this fine building and not get bored.

Early Evening: Chester to Manchester

You’ve collected quite a few new memories, haven’t you? Memories make the best souvenirs. The question is: which story will you tell your friends and family first when you get home? You’ll have time to reminisce on your favorite moments as you head back to Manchester, where you’ll arrive in the early evening.

How can I book accommodation?

Accommodation is not included in the price of your tour. You can pick from two types of accommodation. A bed and breakfast (B&B) or a hotel. You pick the option you would prefer and we book it as part of the tour package, so everything is included.

Tour Attractions

Stonehenge, tickets are included in the package price when accomodation booked. Other attractions can be paid for on the tour.

Children

We regret we do not carry children under the age of 5 years old on our scheduled tours.

If your child is less that 1.35m tall, you should let us know and we will provide a suitable booster seat.

Luggage

You’re restricted to 14kg (31lbs) of luggage per person. This should be one piece of luggage similar to an airline carry-on bag (approximately 55cm x 45cm x 25cm / 22in x 17in x 10in) plus one small bag for onboard personal items.

Do you offer hotel pickups in the departure cities?

The UK and Ireland’s historic city centres are full of narrow streets and winding roads. So, to speed up your departure, we only pick up from our central meeting points. What’s more is leaving the city using the most direct route also reduces the carbon footprint of our tours.

Is there parking close to the departure point?

We don’t recommend bringing your car into the centre of our departure cities. It can be hard to find parking, and there are excellent public transportation services.

When should I get to the departure point?

Arrive 15 minutes before your departure time. Due to waiting restrictions, we can’t wait for you if you’re late.

What happens if I’m late or miss the tour?

If you’re late for your tour, our cancellation policy applies. 100% charges are applicable, and you will not be entitled to a refund or alternative.

What are your cancellation policies?

Your cancellation terms depend on which tour you’ve booked.

For tours of between two and nine days: You’ll receive a 90% refund if you cancel 15 or more days before the tour departure

Are there toilets on the bus?

Unfortunately, we have no on-board toilet facilities, but you’ll have regular comfort breaks.

How much time do I get off the bus?

We want you to enjoy Britain and Ireland. And we believe the best way to do this is to get you off the mini-coach and out exploring. So, we give you plenty of time to take photos, go walking, and explore ancient ruins.

Why do you exclude visitor attractions?

We exclude visitor attractions in your tour price because it lets you travel your way. It means you can pamper yourself with a luxury lunch or skip an attraction whenever you feel like it.

Do we need to bring our own lunch?

You don’t need to. We stop in small towns, villages, and rural eateries where you can choose whatever meal pleases both your taste buds and your budget.

Should I tip the driver-guide?

Let’s be honest, our driver-guides would never refuse a cheeky bonus. But it’s up to you, and the amount is entirely at your discretion.
