In the late afternoon, the tour moves to Lacock for an early evening supper at a charming 13th-century inn. The final destination is Stonehenge. After the site has closed to the general public, visitors enter the stone circle for an exclusive private viewing. Dating back to the 14th century, The George Inn serves classic British food (please note: food and drink are not included in the tour price).
Discovering the City of Bath
The journey continues to Bath, a city renowned for its elegant Georgian architecture. During a panoramic tour of Bath, visitors will be enchanted by the town’s beautifully proportioned streets. An optional walking tour led by a guide can introduce participants to charming spots like a 17th-century Sally Lunn tea room and the Jane Austen Museum, among other hidden treasures. You will see the impressive Bath Abbey and the much-photographed Pulteney Bridge, which was modelled on Florence’s famous Ponte Vecchio bridge. There will be ample time to visit Bath Abbey, or to explore the shops and various attractions. The tour then includes entry to the magnificent Roman Baths (if the upgrade option is selected), where over one million litres of boiling hot water still burst forth from natural hot springs daily. The Roman Baths are considered the best-preserved Roman spa from the ancient world.
