What food options are available on Best Value Tours?
This is one of our most asked questions and the answer varies depending on the tour you are taking, here are some tips.
Tours Including Lunch / Dinner
There are some excellent day tours that also include a specific lunch or dinner option, usually at a traditional country pub.
A good example is our Small Group Blenheim Palace and Cotswolds Tour, that also includes lunch. This is a rather good tour, seeing the birth place of Winston Churchill, home of the Duke of Marlborough, the magnificent Blenheim Palace, followed by a tour of the most beautiful villages you will find anywhere, in the stunning Cotswolds. You day completed with a traditional 2 course lunch in a 900 year old rural pub.
Or another good example is Stonehenge Inner Circle, with Bath and Dinner at stunning Lacock in the Cotswolds.

Finally many of the festive Christmas Tours include a splendid 4 course traditional course lunch in a rural pub.
We offer a wide selection of day and multi-day tours of Scotland, many including Food and Whiskey experiences.
Most tours that include a lunch stop are lovely and a relaxed day out, but for those who wish to maximise their sightseeing for the day, may find best for them tours including lunch packs.
A good example is our very popular Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath Tour that includes a picnic lunch pack so is good for eating on the go. This tour is popular as includes so much in one day and is great value with all entrance costs included.
Take outs at Attractions
At pretty much all London and Out of London Attractions there are take out food options which you may enjoy, but overall we cannot really recommend them, this is mostly the poorest food choice of the day. Generally they are expensive and not necessarily the best of quality. Plus at peak times they can be be rather crowed, with long queues.
Bring your own pack lunch
Likely the most cost effective, best value way to plan your food for the day, is to prepare and bring with you, your own packed lunch and drinks. Sandwiches or rolls, crisps, fruit, cold pizza and so forth are all popular choices.
If you have facilities where you are staying to prepare food then that will be ideal and you will almost certainly have one of the local mini-supermarkets where you can pick up bread and supplies.
Alternatively if you do not have facilities, then an easy option is to visit one of the local supermarkets, for example; Tesco or Sainsbury Express, Marks and Spenser that can be found at BP petrol stations, or Morrisons, Aldi, Asda or Lidl, all are good. If you Google any of the above it will show those close by to you.
There you will find a wide selection of picnic foods, sandwiches, rolls, crisps, fruit and drinks already made up.
If you intend to eat en-route, do check with your guide that is allowed on your tour.
